Creasing involves using an edge creaser with manual heat (e.g. from a flambé or stick lighter) to create a decorative leather at a certain distance from the edge in order toThis provides an orientation line for the seam line to be punched afterwards. In contrast to compasses and other spacing tools, the Edge Creaser also works on chrome-tanned leather when heated.

The Edge Creaser can also be used to "iron" edge color with heat so that the different layers of edge color bond together even better.
