Here you can find our online courses to learn more leather craft techniques. You do NOT need this knowledge to make leather accessories with our DIY boxes.
The techniques are helpful if you want to deepen and expand your knowledge of leather craft beyond our DIY boxes and want to realize your own leather projects. In the courses, the necessary materials are explained, the techniques are shown in detail and further tips and tricks for a good result are shared.

Explanation of individual courses:

Sharpening refers to the thinning of leather in certain areas in order to reduce the overall thickness of the leather accessory. This is done with a sharpening knife. In the course, you will also learn how to sharpen and polish your sharpening knife so that you can achieve good results every time. Finally, you will be able to apply what you have learned to a project, a leather notebook cover (template included, materials not included).

Creasing involves using an edge creaser with manual heat (e.g. from a stick lighter) to draw a decorative line at a certain distance from the edge inorder to have an orientation line for the seam line to be pricked afterwards. In contrast to compasses and other spacing tools, the Edge Creaser also works on chrome-tanned leather when heated.

Pricking describes the process of making seam holes in your leather with a pricking iron. By marking the orientation line with the creaser beforehand, you can position the seam line at an even distance from the edge. In the course, we will explain a few things about different pricking irons and show you the technique of how pricking works.

In the card case course, you can apply everything you have learned (cutting, optional sharpening, creasing and pricking) to your own project. You will learn how to make a card case with two compartments and a zipper and will be guided through the project step by step. Note: You will also need to know how to sew leather with a saddle seam and how to finish the edges with base coat and edge color. This course also includes the template for the card case as well as written and illustrated step-by-step instructions.
